Just a few hours from the GTA, your March Break getaway is just a short drive away. To help you in your planning, we’ve put together a handy list of hotspots for March Break across the BruceGreySimcoe region. Family Adventures at Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre

Located in Southampton, the Bruce County Museum hosts Family Fun Days over March Break in addition to their regular exhibits. Dive into a world of enchantment with magic, medieval history, and wildlife. Pre-book shows for a complete museum experience during Family Fun Days.

Winter delights at McGregor Point Provincial Park

Embrace the joy of winter with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating (weather dependent) and winter camping (in yurts or on winter camp sites). Don’t forget to check out the snow report to see trail conditions and the skating rink status before heading out.

Creative Learning at Grey Roots Museum and Archives

This eclectic museum just outside Owen Sound is offering a full-slate of March Break programming. Stimulate young minds with STEAM challenges, treasure hunts, and more. Pre-registration is required and admission to the Museum is included. Check out the full schedule right here.

Nature’s Playground at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

This amazing facility located just up the road from Blue Mountain is a great March Break destination. Traverse a 420-foot suspension bridge, take a guided night snowshoe (reservations required) or hit the cross-country trails. Youngsters enjoy free trail access, adding to the family excitement.

Blue Mountain Resort & Blue Mountain Village

Blue Mountain Resort is an obvious March Break destination with great skiing and snowboarding as well as their off-piste offerings like The Ridge Runner and Plunge Aquatic Centre and Hike and Tube. If you add the long list of special events scheduled and packages available for family savings and the atmosphere of Blue Mountain Village, heading to this popular resort is a no-brainer for the break. Step Back in Time at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons

Travel back in time at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons in Midland! With take-home crafts, historical demonstrations, storytelling and more, we guarantee your journey to the 17th century will be both educational and fun. Tickets are $12, tax included, and entry is free for children under 5, Ontario teachers, members of the Canadian military, and Indigenous peoples. On from March 11-15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Simcoe County Museum

In addition to their regular exhibits, The Simcoe County Museum has a skate trail on site (weather depending). For March Break, their day camp schedule includes Canadian Capers, Traditional Tales, Cartoon Classics, Fantastical Fairytales and Swords and Spells.

Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

Wasaga Beach Adventure Park

Open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning March 2, you can take your restless kids to Wasaga Beach Adventure Park to play some paintball, try axe throwing (13 and older) or conquer their Escape Rooms during the March Break. Join the Frosty’s Revenge paintball battle set for Saturday, March 16th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tap into Maple

Ontario’s Lake Country hosts Tap into Maple from March 1 until April 7th. This self-driving tour of the area’s sugar bushes and maple-inspired business has some special offerings over the March Break. Shaw’s Sugar Bush has horse-drawn wagon rides on Saturday’s and Sunday’s at the farm.

Horseshoe Resort

Stay and ski just outside of Barrie at Horseshoe Resort! Hit the slopes, grab some cross-country skis, snowshoes or a fat bike and explore the Copeland Forest, soar down Ontario’s longest snow tubing hill, or take a spin on our outdoor skating rink. Snow Valley

Ski, board, and tube just outside of Barrie at Snow Valley. They offer a March Break ski camp from March 11th to March 14th. Buy your tickets online in advance to save.

Mount Saint Louis Moonstone

Located near Coldwater in Simcoe County, Mount Saint Louis Moonstone offers great skiing and snowboarding. Check their website for discounted March Break rates.

Bayview Wildwood Resort

A true escape from the everyday, Bayview Wildwood Resort is offering their March Break Getaway from March 8 to March 16. With a complete daily entertainment schedule and complimentary winter activities like cross-country skiing, skating and snowshoeing, hours of family fun await.
